The building is designed to accommodate up to 1,500 workstations with a constructed surface of 63,680 m2. The Decennial (RCD) insurance contract is intended to be awarded as a single contract with multiple insurers covering portions of the contract. This tender is divided into 2 lots: Lot 1 – Lead insurer (minimum capacity is 15 %); Lot 2 – Co-insurers (minimum capacity is 2.5 %).

Description : Lot 1 - Lead Insurer, covering EIB as well as all participants involved in the design and execution of the works, including contractors, subcontractors, architects and engineers for a certain percentage of the required overall RCD coverage. It covers physical loss or damage to the New EIB Building regarding RC Decennial aspect. Lead Insurer is responsible for managing the co-insurers participating in the final service contract. As a minimum, the Lead Insurer is required to provide a minimum of fifteen (15) percent (%) of the required coverage of the Insured Amount, which is set as EUR 217 490 000. The Lead Insurer will be paid a lead fee of 0.5% of the co-insurers’ premium subtotal, for the necessary coordination of the co-insurers during the contract term. This lead fee is additional to the Lead Insurer’s premium subtotal.

Description : Lot 2 Co-insurer(s), covering EIB as well as all participants involved in the design and execution of the works, including contractors, subcontractors, architects and engineers for a certain percentage of the required overall RCD coverage. The award of Lot 2 is foreseen to include several Tenderers, each of whom will be responsible for providing a certain percentage (%) of the required RCD coverage as a co-insurer. The sum of these percentages and of the percentage of coverage provided by the Lead Insurer will equal 100%, i.e. the total required RCD coverage. As a minimum, each Co-insurer is required to provide a minimum of two-point five (2.5) percent (%) of the required coverage of the Insured Amount, which is set as EUR 217 490 000.
