Lot No.1 Programme – Annual “Innovation Academy” Programme ESB runs an annual innovation development programme – the ESB Innovation Academy - for a cohort of selected people (circa 20-25 participants) which is sponsored and supported by all ESB Business Units. The programme is intended to build the capability for Innovation across the business, develop competence for innovation among participants and deliver innovative propositions that can deliver on business objectives. Participants are appointed by a combination of management selection and individual application, to ensure a diverse cohort of well-motivated, high capability individuals. The programme should include a blend of academic, practical, action-based learning and project work. The content should include a range of Innovation tools and techniques – in particular focus on a ‘Design Thinking’ experiential learning approach. The content should include a range of Innovation tools and techniques – the primary focus being a ‘Design Thinking’ experiential learning approach. It should cover the 5 main stages of Design Thinking: • Customer Empathy, • Problem Definition, • Solution Design, • Prototyping and • Test and Validation. A target format of 6 Modules of 2 days each of programme days over approximately 6 months (January to June), broken up into modules\learning blocks, with possible reading and project work between dates. The service provider organises and charges for their venues and ESB covers our venue. Lot No. 2 Programme – Innovation Short Course Learning and Leadership Programme In addition to the ESB Innovation Academy, ESB would like to provide a Short Course Innovation Programme with some standard and some bespoke offerings. Standard offerings may include: • Introduction to Design Thinking, Tools and Techniques • Experiential Design Thinking Challenge • Design Thinking Sprint “Ignition Programme” (ESB provided topic) • Innovation Leadership Lot 2 has between 2 and 4 delivery days per course (per annum). Programme design and administration, plus module preparation should be factored-in also.
