2.1 Procedure

Title : 25/01350 Liquid handling robot
Description : The Institute of Marine Research will invest in a new sample preparation system to achieve a more efficient, automated and improved sample preparation for analysis of contaminants and nutrients. Over 1000 samples are analyzed each year. Currently we use different manual and automated systems such as QuEChERS with dispersive SPE, ASPEC with SPE-columns and chromatographic purification using GO-HT system. The use of µSPE purification has been shown to give better and more efficient purification and we will invest in a new liquid handling robot system using syringes that is necessary for using µSPE columns.
Procedure identifier : 1b0b41ed-5f8c-4484-adfd-34c7e8d1bd57
Internal identifier : 25/01350
Type of procedure : Open
The procedure is accelerated : no
Main features of the procedure : The system shall be a stand-alone bench-top robotic system including custom fume hood that can be coupled to existing exhaust/air evacuation systems. The maximum length of the total system including hood/cabinet should be 200cm. The system should include liquid syringe tools with the ability to perform liquid pipetting from 1-1000 µl using syringes. The robot should be able to automatically switch between syringes in a method necessary without any manual work. The solvent modules for large volumes should be included. The system should include all tools needed for µSPE purification and be able to use both ITSP and PAL µSPE columns and include wash stations, tray-holders, and trays necessary for the purified samples to be stored at 4°C overnight. The samples after purification should be able to be stored in 1.5 ml GC/LC vials. The system should also be able to perform preparation of calibration standards and sample dilution. Software needed to run the robot should be included.
