Title : Rental of an electric fire engine
Description : The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) is planning a possible future tender in connection with the rental of an electric fire engine for one year, with the rental period starting in June or July 2025. In connection with the rental, DALO would initially like to enter into a dialogue with the market, in order for DALO can obtain information about the possibilities and restrictions on the market. The purpose of this RFI is to identify whether there are any suppliers interested in, and capable of, providing DALO with the electric fire engine in question. The purpose of the rental is to clarify the opportunities and limitations associated with the use of electric-based solutions within the Danish emergency services, as part of a broader transition towards more sustainable and "future-proof" emergency vehicles. The electric-powered firefighting engine will primarily be used by the Danish Emergency Management Agency (“DEMA”) for training and exercise purposes, as well as for the development and testing of tactics, methods, and operational procedures adapted to electrified vehicles. As the national authority for rescue services, and the agency responsible for training on-site commanders and developing training materials, DEMA plays a key role in driving technological development and adaptation in this field. The transition to electric engines should be understood in the context of: • Increasing requirements for reducing CO₂ emissions and adopting fossil-free technologies. • Expectations for the electrification of large parts of the public vehicle fleet, including emergency vehicles. • A desire to improve the working environment for crews, including reducing noise and emissions during operations. Through this rental of a fire engine, DEMA seeks to establish the necessary knowledge base for the integration of electric self-propelled fire engines into a modern emergency response organization, without compromising operational capacity or the robustness of the emergency response. Finally, DALO emphasizes that the the engine must be available for rental by June or at the latest by July 2025, and for a rental period of one year. For more information and details about the requirements for the fire engine please see the RFI that DALO has prepared. DALO has prepared 12 questions in this Request for Information (RFI), which DALO would like to gain information on. The questionnaire can be found on the digital tender case, cf. the link in the section “Communication”. Suppliers who wish to respond to DALO's questionnaire must first log in to the digital tender system. Suppliers without a login must register online before proceeding. A guide for suppliers can be found here: https://eu.eu-supply.com/img/brandings/ka_quickguide_en.pdf Log in to the system and click ‘Accept’. Upon acceptance, the questionnaire with DALO’s questions will become available to you under “Documents”. You will also receive notifications and be able to upload the completed questionnaire. Please upload the questionnaire via the message module on the digital tender case no later than May 9, 2025 at 13:00 CET. Questions regarding the RFI must also be submitted on the digital tender case, cf. the link in the section ‘Communication’. If the questions are uploaded no later than May 8, 2025, DALO will strive to answer the questions before the deadline for the submission of the RFI. DALO encourages the market to reply to this RFI and to submit any information, product presentations and/or catalogues that might be relevant. In continuation of this RFI DALO might arrange meetings or contact you for further information, if this is found relevant. DALO emphasizes that it will not influence your participation in a possible future tender, should you decline to participate or only partly fill out the RFI.
