The tunnel does not meet all requirements in the Tunnel Safety Regulations, and the requirements for electricity safety have changed since the tunnel was opened in 2000. Comprehensive measures must be implemented so that the tunnel shall meet the current standard requirements. New breakdown lay-bys, turning sections and new technical buildings shall be blasted for approx. each km. 28 new technical buildings shall be in place, two of these in the open air. A new ventilation tunnel shall also be blasted next to the old one. The old shaft ventilators in a cross section shall be replaced and two new shaft ventilators shall be installed. All technical equipment shall be replaced and upgraded to fulfil the current standard. The cable runs for new technical installations shall be laid behind a new guard rail in concrete. The existing installations shall be in operation during the entire construction period, and when the new facility is tested and approved, the old one shall be disconnected. Minor improvement measures shall be carried out at the drainage facility in the tunnel, all manholes shall be equipped with a diver, and a new sedimentation facility for washing water shall be constructed on both sides of the tunnel.

Relevant experience Qualification requirement: Tenderers shall have sufficient experience with management and execution of road projects of a relevant nature and degree of difficulty. The contractor shall, in addition, have sufficient experience of a relevant nature and degree of difficulty from the following central works: 1. Driving and securing of road tunnels 2. Complete electrotechnical installations on road tunnels, including control and connection to the Road Traffic Centre. 3. Laying of conduits for high voltage and pulling bulky high voltage cables over long stretches The contractor shall have experience from the execution of the central works as mentioned above. If the contractor only has experience from, for example, managing contract helpers, the contractor must rely on other entities that have the necessary experience from the execution of the relevant central works, see B2 point 4.1. Documentation requirement: 1. A list of up to 8 and not less than 2 contracts that the contractor has carried out or carry out during the last five years calculated from the deadline for submitting requests for participation in the competition. The minimum and maximum limit applies to the total number of reference projects, and is the same regardless of whether the tenderer fulfils the qualification requirement alone or relies on others to fulfil the qualification requirement.
