2.1 Procedure

Title : IFMIF-DONES Radio Frequency Power System
Description : The scope of this envisaged contract is the supply of the Radiofrequency (RF) Power System. It is responsible for generating, amplifying, managing, and delivering high-power RF signals to various accelerator radiofrequency cavities, including the RFQ (Radiofrequency Quadrupole cavity), MEBT (Medium Energy Beam Transport line) re-buncher cavities, and HWR (Half-Wave Resonator) cavities of the SRF (Superconducting Radiofrequency) LINAC (Linear Accelerator). It also compensates for cavity field variations caused by factors such as beam loading, thermal dilation, and amplifier gain drift to maintain the required amplitude and phase of the accelerating voltage for proper deuteron acceleration. The International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility (IFMIF) is a cornerstone of fusion development. Its purpose is to deliver a high-intensity neutron source using an accelerator-based deuteron-lithium system to reproduce the neutron spectrum experienced by the first wall of future fusion reactors like DEMO and subsequent power plants. The IFMIF-DONES is a major international scientific infrastructure project aimed at supporting the development of fusion energy by testing and qualifying materials that will be used in future fusion reactors, particularly the DEMO reactor (the demonstration fusion power plant that will follow ITER). As a user facility, IFMIF-DONES is expected to achieve a high inherent availability during its 30 years lifetime.

Title : IFMIF-DONES Radio Frequency Power System
Description : The scope of the envisaged contract is to supply the Radiofrequency (RF) Power System, which is in charge to generate, amplify, manage and deliver the required high power RF signal to the Accelerator Systems (AS); including radiofrequency cavities (the Radiofrequency Quadrupole cavity (RFQ), the re-buncher cavities of the Medium Energy Beam Transport line (MEBT) and the Half-Wave Resonator (HWR) cavities of the Superconducting Radiofrequency (SRF) Linear Accelerator (LINAC)). The RFPS is also in charge to react to the cavity field variations due to multiple effects (beam loading, thermal dilation, amplifier gain drift, etc.), compensating these phenomena and keeping the amplitude and phase of the accelerating voltage as required, to have a proper acceleration of the deuterons.
