Title : Market Engagement Briefings
Description : MetroLink is commencing Global Market Engagement as announced in the Global PIN on 7th July 2025. The first briefings will take place in Q3 2025. These events will provide an opportunity for the MetroLink team to share information about the MetroLink programme, outline upcoming procurement opportunities, and begin building strong, collaborative relationships with the market. The London event has been extremely well subscribed and above the numbers that the market engagement had could have reasonably foreseen, narrowing down suitable venues to those with a large enough capacity and that would be appropriate to the nature and scale of the event. The guestlist includes requests from the Minister's Office, Irish Embassy and British Transport Secretary to attend. The market engagement team reviewed over 30 venues in London to host the event. Of the venues reviewed, only two were of sufficient capacity and available on the date required. For the venue a quotation process was undertaken as the expected cost was to be below 50k. A Further three quote process was being run for a Metrolink AV specialist in the same way that this was undertaken for the previous Dublin Event. However there is only one approved supplier of AV equipment for this venue, which has been dictated to Metrolink/TII by the venue. This venue is a historic early 20th Century building and is listed. It has only a small lift and no direct load in access, there is a substantially larger crew/labour costs to enable the load in and load out of equipment. Equipment rigging on ground only, nothing can be flown. There are also restrictions on the type of equipment that can be used and how it can be installed. The Metrolink team have negotiated the price down from the original quote to minimise costs as far as possible and have satisfied themselves that there is no reasonable alternative supplier (The AV team used for the Dublin event would not be available in any case).
