Description : Wexford County Council wishes to establish a multi-supplier framework of Works Contractors for Tourism Capital Development Projects and Conversion/Conservation Works to existing Historic Buildings, with the initial project of a proposed Norman Themed Visitor Centre at 20-21 The Quay, New Ross, Co.Wexford. ------------ It is envisaged that during the lifetime of the framework, there may be a number of tourism development projects and/or works to convert old/protected/heritage type buildings to bring them back into use, for which works contracts will be procured using this framework. Potential projects that may form future mini-competitions off the framework include (but are not limited to): - Dunbrody Visitor Centre Extension (New Ross) - John Street Grain Store (New Ross) - Hook Head Visitor Centre - Irish National Heritage Park expansion - Ballast Office Redevelopment ------------------ WCC reserves the right to procure works for these and other similar works contract using separate procurement processes if so desired. -----------------The Framework Agreements will be issued for a term of two (2) years (“the Term”). WCC reserves the right to extend the Term for two further periods of one (1) year each, on the same terms and conditions and subject to budgetary constraints, satisfactory performance, etc. WCC shall be entitled to terminate the Framework Agreement in the event that a Framework Agreement for Works Contractors is put in place by the Office of Government Procurement during the term of the Framework Agreement and in the case of such termination no compensation shall be payable for any loss (including consequential loss) that may be suffered by a Tenderer as a result of such termination. ------------------The successful Tenderers will be required to enter into a framework agreement with WCC using the standard Public Works Framework Agreement for Construction (PW-CF9) a copy of which is issued with this document. ------------------INITIAL PROJECT - NORMAN THEMED VISITOR CENTRE: ------------------The Initial Project Works comprises partial demolition, alterations, refurbishment and extension of the existing three/four-storey former Bank and adjoining Grain Store at 20-21 The Quay, New Ross using traditional construction methods and adopting, where possible, best conservation practice in terms of the refurbishment works together with modern commercial construction methods in terms of the construction of the extension and new pavilion building together with all new mechanical, electrical, lift services, the preparation of the buildings for Interpretative Fit-out and minor External Works. Combined floor area of existing and new structures is approximately 1,395m2. A set of the Part 8 Planning Architectural Drawings accompany this Suitability Assessment Questionnaire for illustration purposes.
