Description : The Contracting Entity has an ongoing need to enter into electrical works contracts relating to utility scale onshore wind, solar, battery energy storage system ("BESS") or similar projects in the Republic of Ireland. The Contracting Entity wishes to establish a qualification system with a pool of qualified parties (i.e. the Qualified Applicants) that can be invited to specific Competitions under the Qualification System in relation to the procurement and execution of such electrical works. The scope of works under a Contract may include (without limitation) the civil and electrical design, construction, commissioning and testing of electrical substation contestable works, associated low voltage (LV) / medium voltage (MV) / high voltage (HV) cabling, and the grid connection route to connect the Project to the transmission or distribution network in accordance with the connection agreement for the Project and to the satisfaction of the Contracting Entity and the Distribution System Operator or Transmission System Operator. The scope may also include the design, supply, delivery, installation, commissioning, and testing of all electrical and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) equipment for the substation which may or may not include the grid transformer. For the avoidance of doubt, engineering, procurement and/or construction or similar works in connection with any solar farm, wind farm, BESS or similar asset which will connect to the Project substation will be carried out by one or more other parties under one or more separate works contracts outside the scope of this Qualification System.

Any new legal entity incorporated in the Republic of Ireland during the term of the Framework Agreements that is directly or indirectly controlled by Midco, or in which Midco directly or indirectly holds at least 50% ownership and/or control, may also enter into Contracts under the Qualification System, as long as the new legal entity’s activities are within the usual activities of Midco and its subsidiaries, which are developing, constructing and operating onshore wind, solar and battery energy storage projects in the Republic of Ireland and providing energy products to their customers.
