Description : Sykehusinnkjøp HF intends, on behalf of Helse Stavanger HF, to enter into an agreement withArea Nanopore Technologies plc. for the procurement of 1 item. A Long-read sequencing instrument, type PromethION 2 Integrated, procurement of consumables dependent on equipment and an option for service and training. The sequentator shall be used by the Department of Medical Microbiology for long-read real-time sequencing to expand the use areas for next generation sequencing in real time at the department and increasing the capacity and analysing the spectre. The department expects to use approx. 10-50 flow cells per annum for the new unit, with the accompanying necessary sample preparation sets. The total value of the procurement, including all listed above, is estimated to BE USD 375,000. The contracting authority has carried out market surveys on Doffin and TED and not found other parties in the market who can offer a long-read sequentialator that can fulfil the requirement for single-molecule long-read sequencing, be able to generate DNA readings of a minimum of 30 kb+, be able to perform real-time sequencing on several separate sequencing units simultaneously to provide sufficient capacity and flexibility, be a high capacity system that can theoretically generate a minimum of 200 Gb per separate separate sequencing unit, be able to fit in a laboratory with limited space and be easily movable (benchtop model). Based on this, a competition cannot be arranged for the delivery of the equipment that shall be procured. This is due to technical reasons. The terms for the procurement without competition in accordance with the public procurement regulations § 13-4 first section, letter b no. 2 are therefore fulfilled.
